Rain-soaked Nant Helen Trails at Sunset

With all the rain we've had recently, I thought this was an apt image to post. This was just a JPEG shot with my old phone, so not great technically, but I think it's captured the dynamic range of the scene pretty well considering.

Not a sweeping vista or epic sky, but I love its vibe. I can almost hear the splash of my boots along the trail and the patter of droplets falling from the trees. I can almost smell the woodland damp, and of course, the scene draws you up the trail, into the slightly hazy distance with the setting sun trying to pierce the rainclouds giving it a sort of… mystique.

Taken on the forestry trails above cycle route 43 before GCRE started carving up the hillside.
